Tips to Winterize Your Skin

During the winter, it can be hard to keep your skin well-hydrated, soft, and glowing.

When it’s cold outside and warm and dry inside, your skin can get chapped, rough, and blotchy.

Taking simple care of yourself can help keep your skin healthy.

  • Avoid hot showers, and instead, use lukewarm water. Hot water makes it easier for the skin’s moisture to evaporate, which will dry out your skin.
  • Don’t rub your skin too hard with a towel or washcloth. Instead, pat it dry.
  • Mineral water is good to drink a lot of. Purified water doesn’t have any minerals in it, and it will help your kidneys get rid of more fluids by acting like a diuretic.
  • Antioxidants and fatty acids make the skin hold more water, and extra vitamin C is needed for collagen fibers to form.

Look for moisturizers that contain humectants like ceramides, glycerin, and hyaluronic acid, as well as emollients like linoleic acid, shea butter, cocoa butter, and stearic acid. Don’t forget to eat collagen-rich food particularly those rich in Vitamin C.
